The second month of Pregnancy: Symptoms and Fetal Growth Guide
A basic response when anybody finds your pregnancy is to say Congratulations, right? Now that you are 2 months pregnant you may find yourself surrounded by the waves of physical and emotional changes. The second month of pregnancy is where the real pregnancy journey starts as you start noticing and suffering from the symptoms a lot. One of the toughest stages of pregnancy!
I am not glooming and dooming here- It’s just that I am trying to be real- and in this case, it means that this month you will get a lot of unexpected vomiting, morning sickness, food cravings or food aversions, problems with strong smells, nausea, tiredness, sleepiness, and panic about what your rest of the months and life will be like.
Spoiler alert: Don’t worry. You are going to do great! Here is what to expect at 2 months.
Symptoms while being 2 months pregnant.
At this moment, your tiny baby is making you undergo the following symptoms. Though it can be annoying, it normal.
morning sickness or persistent, all-day nausea
food cravings or aversions
mood swings, weepiness, and fatigue
changes in your breast size
Tracking Fetal development
Right now, your baby is about the size of a raspberry. It still looks like an alien but has started to gain certain human features as well like eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Also, the vital body systems like respiratory organs and nerves are rapidly growing inside.
Your baby’s brain and head look like a large ball. (Don’t worry, it will soon start to look like a cute human being).
Its heart is beating at around 140 beats per minute. You will not be able to listen to the heartbeats on a Doppler machine yet.
Ultrasound during this month
When talking about ultrasounds, your Gynac could ask for an early between 5 to 8 weeks of pregnancy. During an ultrasound, you can expect to see some cool things like the gestational sac, the yolk sac, the tiny shape of your baby, and the super-fast heartbeats.
Being 2 months isn’t fun always. You may feel sick all the time, you can also become cranky and grumpy. Don’t worry, this too shall pass, and soon you’ll go back to eating whatever you love without puking and able to resume your routine.
